My grandfather’s pocket watch

My grandfather’s pocket watch, a Hampden with serial number 877890 from about 1893.  It was passed down to him from his aunt’s family.

I wanted to see it run, so I wrote the script above.

The Ross Township school bus driver:  Russell Gordin, 1928.  (He just might have the watch in his hand.)  I attended the same school almost 40 years later.

In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Time’s Arrow, Mark Twain’s pocket watch is a Hampden from the same time period.  The hands appear to be the same.  Note the slight differences in the font, the double sunk face, and the lack of “railroad tracks” and red minute numerals around the edge.
